Indonesian Ambassador at the Institute for Recent History of Serbia

Andreano Erwin, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Belgrade, paid a visit to the Institute fr Recent History of Serbia, where he, accompanied by two of his associates, met with the Director, Dr. Vladan Jovanović, and Senior Research Fellow Dr. Jovan Čavoški.

During the meeting, the Ambassador was briefed on the state and current trends in Serbian, regional, and European historiography, as well as on the scientific capacities and developmental directions of the Institute. Following a two-hour discussion, it was agreed that the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia would support the Institute’s efforts to establish and develop institutional and partnership-based cooperation with comparable research institutions in Indonesia, which Dr. Čavoški had already initiated during his visits to that country last year. The possibility of organizing a joint international academic conference, as well as preparing a comparative monograph devoted to the challenges faced by multicultural societies in Southeast Europe and Asia, was also considered.
